Living on Canandaigua is meant to be useful and trustworthy. This page explains how the site may make money and how we keep that separate from what we write.
Current status
Living on Canandaigua has no sponsored posts, paid placements, or display advertising, and no company has paid to be mentioned on this site. As of this update, our guides don’t contain affiliate links.
Amazon Associates
Living on Canandaigua may participate in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate program that lets sites earn fees by linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, Living on Canandaigua earns from qualifying purchases. If we add Amazon links to a guide, the page will carry a note near the top, the links will be marked as sponsored, and buying through them costs you nothing extra.
How we would use affiliate links
- Only where genuinely useful, for a type of product a guide already covers and readers are likely to need. A commission never decides whether or how we cover a topic, product, or rule.
- Clearly labeled on every page that has them.
- Light touch: no banners, pop-ups, or product boxes.
- No made-up reviews, ratings, or prices.
